halloween 2009

OMG. I'm actually writing something on this blog. Sorry for yet another extended absence. In the past month, we moved back into the house, lived in the middle of construction for a couple weeks while they finished things up, then I got a bunionectomy on both feet, and Jeff took off a couple weeks to be Mr. Mom while I tried to stay off the feet as much as possible. We're slowly settling in, although the only rooms that are fully furnished are the dining and kids' rooms. In the meantime, life continues to go by at lightening speed and we find ourselves in the middle of fall.

Back in August I came across some cute butterfly wings for Ruby in some princess-themed boutique filled with all things pink, frilly, and girly. As I was looking over the selection and came across some particularly frou frou wings lined with pink feathers, Levi chimed in and said he wanted those for himself. Whenever stuff like this happens, Jeff's disapproving face immediately comes to mind. He's shaking his head at me saying, "My son is not wearing that." Anyway, my thinking is that Levi's still young enough that nobody will beat him up over dressing like a butterfly for Halloween, but old enough to understand that boys generally don't walk around in pink feathers. So I convinced him that what he really wanted were the blue-green wings without all the glittery swirls. Without further ado, here are pictures of the kids on Halloween.

Mom, Dad! Check out the loot!!!!
