255 mesa lila rd

Here are some pix of the house, finally. I should be mortified by the mess, I know. But, honestly, we're still recovering from the relocation. Did I mention that Jeff had another kidney stone the other weekend?!? Even after birthing 2 kids, I can't hold a candle next to Jeff's 5 kidney stones (and counting). I'm just happy that I've managed to stay on top of the laundry and dishes.

life without bink

For a long time now, I've known that we need to break Ruby of her bink addiction. She can't sleep without it, can't play without it, can't ride in the car without it, just can't live without it. However, her teeth look all funny and crooked, and I don't want her to start preschool with that thing in her mouth. But I've been thinking, we still have time. It's only May. Preschool doesn't start until mid-August. Then Tuesday morning, I find that Jeff has taken the initiative and punched a big hole through the nipple. No suction is no fun. Ruby's had a rough week. She keeps throwing the bink at me, telling me that it's broken. She's angry, cranky, fussy, and can't fall asleep very easily. After taking no nap yesterday, she was still up until 2:00 telling me how angry she was about the situation. Change is hard. As Jeff likes to remind me: pain's a part of life.

Levi comes running with his blankie to wipe away tears whenever he hears Ruby crying.

She finally fell asleep this afternoon after an hour-long tantrum, with defunct bink in mouth.

On a happier note, we got the kids an inflatable pool for this sizzling LA weather. It's the first time Ruby's ever been in a swimsuit. I don't even have a real swimsuit for Levi since he outgrew his last pair a year ago. I guess it's time to get the right gear for the kids.
